Privacy policy

We collect very little. If you sign up to our newsletter, we hold your email address and nothing else about you by default - no invasive tracking, no selling your data, and nothing shared with any fostering service without your explicit action.

Who we are

fostering.org.uk is operated by Domain Farm Ltd, a private UK company (company number 13544286, VAT GB435224124), registered office Vantage House, Euxton. Domain Farm Ltd is the data controller for any personal data collected through this site.

What we collect

If you sign up to our newsletter, we collect your email address so we can send you the updates you've asked for - new allowance figures when they change, and genuine policy news such as the 2026 Kinship Zones pilot. We don't ask for your name, address, phone number or any other personal detail to sign up.

Beyond that, we run basic, aggregate site analytics to understand which pages are useful and which aren't - this tells us things like how many people visited a page in total, not who any individual visitor was. We don't build advertising-retargeting profiles of individual visitors, and we don't track you across other websites.

Our eligibility self-check and allowance calculator tools run entirely in your browser. Nothing you enter into either tool is sent to us, stored by us, or seen by us in any form.

What we don't do

Cookies and local storage

Your choice of light or dark mode is remembered using your browser's local storage, not a tracking cookie - it stays on your device and is never sent to us. Our basic analytics may use a small number of essential cookies to count visits in aggregate; these don't identify you personally.

How long we keep data, and your rights

We keep your newsletter email address for as long as you remain subscribed, and delete it promptly once you unsubscribe. Under UK GDPR, you have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, and to have it deleted - contact us using the details below and we'll respond promptly.

ICO registration - in progress. We are in the process of registering with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's independent regulator for data protection. Our ICO registration reference will be published on this page once confirmed. In the meantime, you retain the right to raise any data protection concern directly with the ICO at any time.

Contact us about your data

For any question about this policy or your personal data, contact Domain Farm Ltd at its registered office, Vantage House, Euxton, or via the contact details published on this site. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) directly if you believe your data has been mishandled.
