Statement from our Chief Executive:
We continue to see an increase in the work of the information lines each and every month and the support we receive from social services departments and other adoption and fostering agencies is very gratifying indeed.
We are glad to report that the numbers of visitors to our web sites, the telephone calls to our freephone helpline and the referrals we are now making to fostering agencies throughout the UK are increasing all the time. Despite the strain this places upon us we very much hope these continue to increase.
Each month we have received over one thousand calls to our freephone line. We feel that it is very important to answer your calls as speedily as we can. We must apologise to those who telephone and get the busy signal or our telephone answer machine. We are doing our very best to improve this situation.
Our latest good news is that this information line has now secured sufficient promises of funding to continue to run our range of basic service to the public and fostering agencies until the end of 2008.
Lastly, my thanks and gratitude are extended to all the hard working staff and to the many volunteers who help us to help children.
