I am interested what do I do next?

Foster Child

Many find the easiest way to pursue their interest is to complete our registration form.

Once you have considered all the information available on this web site and have decided to follow up your interest what should you do?

There are several ways:

You can start the process of considering to apply to become a foster carer by contacting our FREEPHONE number on the bottom of this page. We will then put you in touch with an agency that are looking for foster carer applicants in your area.

Alternatively you can register your interest by completing our simple email form. To do this select "Register" from the top navigation bar. Then after you have filled in the form we will arrange for a local agency to send you an information pack.

You may prefer to select our organisations section which lists foster care organisations by the post code areas within which they accept expressions of interest from people who are considering making an application to become a foster carer. To do this select "Organisations" from the top navigation bar. This listing will provide phone numbers and other details of fostering agencies in your area.

Alternatively you can find most agencies and social services or social work department in your local phone book or yellow pages.

An important part in this next step is for agencies to provide you with information about fostering in your particular area, and about fostering for the particular agency or social services department. Most initial enquiries will be responded to by sending you this localised information.

Once you have received this information from the agency you can start to consider more seriously about applying to become a foster carer. Should you need further advice on any issue please phone us.
